On Thursday we were honoured to welcome back the fantastic Chroma Harp Duo, as part of our Lunchtime Recital Series.
The Duo, made up of musicians Becki Luff and Lucy Nolan took us on a journey of much-loved masterpieces, Indian rage inspired compositions and works that utilise the harp as a percussion instrument!
Regularly performing for music societies and concert halls throughout the UK, the duo were finalists in the Wales International Harp Festival and first prize winners at the London Camac Harp Ensemble Competition as well as being awarded the UK Harp Association’s prize for the best performance of a new British work. They were invited to perform in the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment’s inaugural Live at The Hex performance series and have been guest artists at the Royal Albert Hall and Buxton International Festival.
It was a real treat being able to witness their mastery of such a beautiful instrument. I think the castanets took us all by surprise & the clever use of blue tack on the strings to emulate the zipping of spirits and fae folk was enamouring.
If you missed this recital, keep your eyes on our YouTube Channel as we will be sharing some of the event soon. We hope to see you again at our next recital!
