Once again we had a lot of fun at the practice with a lot of laughter and once again we started with ‘Side by Side’ which is such a happy and jolly song it puts you in the right mood for a good sing. After that we did ‘You Raise me up’ which is always uplifting, whether singing it or listening to it.
We didn’t seem to spend a lot of time note bashing and we got through a lot of the songs in our folders, ‘Evening Star’, ‘Corn’, ‘You’re just in Love’, ‘California Dreaming’ and Handel’s ‘Hallelujah Chorus’, which we did work on. After practising in our different parts we actually got through to the end. This is challenging but such beautiful music, it is well worth the effort. I thought it sounded great and I really enjoy singing it. Katy was very pleased and said “It sounded like a choir singing the Hallelujah Chorus” and “It was amazing”.
