After the warm ups with Kate we started with ‘Rudolph’. This is such a fun song to sing. We worked a lot on the ‘oooohs and ohhhhs’. Yes, there is a difference! When we had sung it through Katy said she was impressed with it. But then she gave us the bad news. It should be much faster! It is quite a long song and the way the music is written out means there are 40 pages. Lots of pages mean lots of page turns. You need to be ready!
Next Tom led us with the ‘Star Carol’. We sung from the beginning to the letter C. There was quite a lot of discussion on finding the different notes.
There wasn’t a lot of time left so we sang through the whole of ‘Winter Wonderland’ but didn’t discuss it. It’s a lovely cheerful song, even in September. This version was arranged by our very own Katy Bradley and is great to sing.
