There was a good turn out tonight. I think most of the members were there. When we went into the rehearsal room folders for the concert were on our chairs, and also a copy of the list of songs for the concert. Having them out ready was a great idea.
After a warm up we did a run through of most of the songs for the upcoming concert. Most of the songs went very well and Katy and Kate seemed pleased with each one although a lack of excitement was mentioned a couple of times. I think the choir is saving itself for the concert!
One thing that was new tonight was being able to hear the soloists for two of the songs. Two basses are singing the solo parts in ‘Fields of Gold’, each of the two men sings one line solo and one line together. It was lovely to listen to. ‘The Lord is my Shepherd’ has two sopranos singing the solo line together. This was very beautiful and quite inspiring.
