I felt very welcomed today when I walked in to Tatton Community Centre in Chorley. That might have had a tiny bit to do with Festive Jumper Solidarity – the organisers and stallholders were also dressed to their sparkly nines – but I got the feeling that’s just how these community events go. Our small-but-mighty cross-choir KTB Music group set ourselves the goal of making people smile, and we feel quietly confident that we brought the festive spirit.

We sang an hour of completely a cappella carols (with a bit of musical vocal accompaniment by Katy!), and we couldn’t help but smile as the audience joined in on the well-known favourites. From classics like “Hark! The Herald Angels Sing”, to modern toe-tappers like “Sleigh Ride” (The Ronettes), we managed a little bit of everything. We even sang in multiple languages, as we included “Gaudete!” (the one entirely in Latin), “Mele Kalikimaka” (includes Hawaiian), and “Feliz Navidad” (by José Feliciano, this one has Spanish bits).

Community seasonal events always have a heartwarming feel to them. Our KTB Music contingent certainly felt the love today. We’re so glad you enjoyed the show, and a huge thank you for being such a wonderful audience!
