Last night I went to a Christmas concert, but it wasn’t just any old Christmas concert. It was like something you’d see on a Saturday night prime viewing time!
It was a cold night so it felt like Christmas was in the air. When we got into the Village hall, it was warm, welcoming and beautifully decorated by the ladies who had organised the night.
I’ve heard Katy singing lots of times but she always surprises me with her range of musicality. She treated us with a wealth of Christmas songs from the golden oldies, like Dreaming of a White Christmas.
When Katy sings songs from long ago, if you sat back and closed your eyes, you’d swear you were listening to Gracie Fields and then she sings the up to date songs with the same passion and technique to fit the song.
But when Katy plays the piano, oh my goodness, she makes it talk!
In the interval we had a scrumptious buffet prepared by the committee of the Hoole Church Ladies Group followed by a brilliant raffle.
Everyone had worked so hard to make the night the success that it was.
Katy was happy with the way we all joined in with some of the songs. Must admit, we did sound good!
Katy ended with two very different songs. Victoria Woods’ Freda & Barry and Bohemian Rhapsody in Lancashire dialect!
Everyone loved them because they were hysterical!
It was very obvious that everyone had enjoyed the night and I heard so many times “Isn’t Katy talented”.
Well… yes she is!
Thank you so much to KTB Music and Hoole Church Ladies Group!
