This week's rehearsal was fun yet slightly exerting as we were working on a new song! Memories by Lucky Chops is a vibrant piece (check out our previous blog post to see what it's going to eventually sound like!!) that I think will become well liked by the band. We were missing our drummer this week, which meant we all had to work that bit harder when it came to keeping time, especially as the saxophone part is offbeat.
After spending most of our brain power on the new tune, we went back to some familiar favourites to conclude what was a very warm evening! Fly Me to the Moon, Shallow and Time After Time sounded fantastic. I hope the dog walkers going through the church yard were enjoying themselves.
Next week is set to be slightly cooler as we come out of this heatwave. Therefore, lets hope our trumpet valves are slightly less sticky so we can have a smoother rehearsal.😂
