For this week’s choir rehearsal we stayed very local for the first half. After a short warm up, which was a warm up in more ways than one (it was very cold outside) as it involved clapping, we learnt a new song called ‘The 12 Venues of Christmas’. This is an interesting and very creative version of ‘The 12 days of Christmas’ adapted by Kate for the Longton Winter Wonderland. We spoke the rhythm first but soon got to the singing. It’s a very fun song all about the various eateries in the village of Longton and the song will have its debut on 30th November in Longton.
We then calmed down to practise Believe and The Lute-Book Lullaby, both beautiful Christmas pieces. Katy must have thought we were doing okay with these as we didn’t seem to need to spend long on them and we also had time to go through ‘African Noël’, ‘Torches’ and we finished up with ‘Ding Dong’. So a great rehearsal singing some great songs.
