Last night’s choir practice was a rehearsal for our concert in Leyland on 15th December. Now it’s December it felt right to be singing Christmas songs and I felt we sung with real feeling but not so the conductor. According to Katy our first rendition of ‘Torches’ had no passion. Katy has such a nice way of telling us off that the second time we sung it we sang with enough passion to light the torches and Katy’s face was lit up too. She was obviously pleased. One of the great things about being in this choir is that both Katy and Kate are both very forthcoming with praise. (When it’s due of course.)

We finished off with ‘Carol of the Bells’. It’s amazing how much the singing actually does sound like bells. What a brilliant song and a good one to end the evening with.

My favourite of the evening was ‘It’s the most wonderful time of the year’. In my opinion this is one of the best songs of the season and we sang with gusto. It has such a happy sound and is everything a Christmas song should be and I think we were a good match for Andy Williams. The music even has beautiful red notes on the front and just looking at it makes you feel Christmassy.
