I don’t think anyone was quite prepared for just how warm it was going to be on Monday evening… Don’t get me wrong, no one was complaining about the weather, but leaving at the end of rehearsal to 22-degree heat is both a treat and a slight nightmare!

However, we didn’t let the slight sweatiness of the evening damper our spirits, instead we blasted out some bangers! As the KTB Music Theatre Chorus has their concerts this weekend, Katy was away for the first half of rehearsal, leaving us in the very capable hands of Kate and Tom. Tom kicked us off with ‘You’re Just in Love’, a song I’m personally unfamiliar with, but one the choir seems pretty confident with. Tom cracked down on some of the slightly trickier rhythms and then it was time for Kate to lead.

Kate whizzed us through a fast-track blast of pretty much every piece of music that is currently in our folder, and I have to say, it was such good fun! Without the pressure of any upcoming concerts/performances, it felt freeing to just go for it!!! As we came to our final song, the ever-divisive Corn, Katy arrived to help Kate duet us through the final half of the song. Is it a slightly mad one? Yes. Am I still a true defender of its corny nature? Absolutely!

There is no rehearsal next week, as we’re all boogying our way to Longton’s Community Hall for the KTB Ceilidh Night! There are a few tickets still available, if you’d like to come down and join us for a dance or two.
