Last night we were missing a few members, but didn't let that stop us! The Girl from Aleppo was up first. Excitingly, we sight read our way (a tad mumbly) through the first movement. This was not a time to worry about notes and rhythms, but an opportunity to see how the piece is going to fit together. An opportunity to feel the music and get excited about how powerful it'll be once we nail it.
We then sang through Loves Philosophy and a few others from our poetry collection. It may be a little early to get excited about next July's concert, but I am quietly buzzing!
Excitingly, we're having a rehearsal next week, even though we were scheduled to be off. So bring on next week, hopefully a slightly cooler rehearsal...
