Well, it was a warm one last night, but we didn't let that stop the hard work! As there are only two more rehearsals left before our concert in aid of Heartbeat (next week we're all having a boogie at the KTB Ceilidh Night) we decided to focus on all of the songs that aren't currently on YouTube. (Our lovely Katy uploads hundreds of videos each year of all the different choir parts for songs that all four of her choirs are performing, so we can practice at home!). This was a really good idea as some of these pieces have been a tad neglected over the past few months. For example, I don’t think we have sung through One by U2 since at least April... I personally don’t really know U2, and thought I could play the age card, young Harry on the Piano exclaimed quite loudly that they’re his favourite band… think I may be letting down the choir slightly…
Circles in Motion was another that hasn’t been frequented as much, oh and what a beautiful piece it is! I think Katy mentioned that the violin part for this one is particularly beautiful, it will be a real treat to hear violinist Jonny Hoyle play it on the night.
As I don’t want to reveal too much of our slightly eclectic yet truly impressive programme, I shall steer clear of telling you what else we sang last night. What I can say though, is that we had a member re-join us after being away for a while & I can truly say that everyone was delighted to see her return. That’s the beauty of The Voice; we embrace each other and really treasure when people find there way back.
