I can’t believe it is July already! What is even more exciting is that England have just won their World Cup knockout game against DR Congo and are through to the next round, well done team! It was very considerate of them to play the match at 5pm so that it didn’t interfere with our final rehearsal before the summer concert on Saturday.
We are always a little apprehensive at this point and many of us are looking at the KTB Music Youtube channel where Katy so thoughtfully uploads all the different songs and individual parts that we need to practice. I'm sure those at home already know what is coming at the concert by what they hear from the other room in the weeks leading up to it!
We now have the running order and the folders to put the music into. They are cleverly designed and it is easy to hold them for the performance, and it certainly looks more professional as we stand there.
We pushed on through the more exacting songs tonight and I think we were happy with the overall sound. It would be great if we could encourage a few more ladies to join us and swell the sound even more. It is nearly 14 years since our merry little band began with about six of us initially (and we are mostly still apart of this lovely group). There is something very special about singing together and we get a lot out of it.
Of course there is the social side of KTB Music too. Whether it be a Ceilidh led by live music, theatre trips by coach, quizzes, maggot racing nights and other exciting things in the pipe line. There is a real community feel to all we do and this transcends across all the different groups that Katy manages in her very busy musical journey. How lucky we are to be part of such a dynamic group.
Keep on singing! 🎶 🎼🎵
