Today was our return to choir practice after the Easter holidays, so there was lots of chatter and catching up with friends we haven’t seen for a couple of weeks. We then settled down and warmed up our voices which, even though I have been a member of the choir for a couple of years, can still make me giggle! Lots of ‘oooos,’ ‘eeees,’ ‘mmmms,’ and ‘ahhhhs’ up and down the scales!!

Once our voices were in good shape we began by running through, I Can’t Help Myself, Clouds, What a Wonderful World and Barnyard Jamboree. We really are building up a very varied repertoire ready for our concert in June. We were given a new batch of music tonight which included some familiar favourites, The Best Man, Firework, High Hopes, and Texas Hold ‘Em. We ran through each of these songs to remind ourselves of how they go, and as the gradual realisation of ‘oh yes I remember it now’ dawned on us we sang them with more confidence and joy. Roll on next week for another evening of singing together.
