A night for fireworks you might think but this practice was as warm and professional as ever, beginning with the buzz of chat and greetings. Cath was then invited to inform us of future plans for amalgamating the several KTB choirs socially with different activities over the coming year, e.g. theatre visits, quizzes, maybe a Ceilidh. It all sounded good fun, an excellent plan for meeting with all members in KTB.
Our warm up was varied from last week and finished with a rousing “My Bonnie Lies Over The Ocean”. After this,” Ding, Dong Merrily On High, Bon Di, Bring Your Torch, Jeanette, Isabella.” When we sang “Gaudete” there was emphasis on each section of the choir to know precisely when to “come in,”learning the words being vital as the lyrics are written in Latin. We finished the practice with the wonderful “ Somewhere in My Memory,” introducing a Descant for the first time.
