We started with our usual egg-shaped humming followed by mee-ing and mooing through some arpeggios. After this we had a rousing rendition of our dum dum dadada rhythmic song, following the tempo Kate set for us. Kate then spoke to everyone about the next rehearsal which will include children from local schools ready for our first Christmas performance. The class were encouraged to be welcoming and nurturing towards everyone new next week and keep an eye open for those who may look nervous and offer them support. A surprise visitor then arrived! Robin Stopford has left his glasses after his performance at the KTB Music Lunchtime recital last week so had come to collect them. We chose to sing him a song, one of our favourites; Underneath the Tree. We set off with gusto, watching Kate conduct us and sang our hearts out. Robin seemed to really enjoy it then asked some questions about the class. After Robin departed we spoke through the words and rhythm of ‘The 12 Venues of Christmas’. We all agree, we are excited for “Hot Cho-co-laaaaaate”. We then sang it through and ran through the rest of the pieces ready for next week. Kate finished the session by letting us know there will be a Christmas party for our final session of the year, hurrah!
